When PNG to JPG is the right job
PNG to JPG is the conversion people run when a photo is heavier than the place it has to go: a form, a mail attachment, a shop listing, or an old editor that still asks for JPEG. A photograph stored as PNG is usually much smaller as JPG. A screenshot made of flat color and sharp text can look worse, because JPEG is built for camera tones, not for one-pixel lines.

What happens to transparency
JPG has no transparent pixels. If the PNG has a clear background, IntoConvert fills those pixels with white before encoding. A logo that was floating on a checkerboard will sit on white. If you need the clear background, use PNG to WEBP or keep the PNG. Do not use PNG to JPG for that file.
